Parent, Family and Caregiver Training
There are four series available to parents, family and caregivers, each tailored to a specfic need.

Each series contains pertinent information, theories, ideas and recommendations, with the goal of truly meeting the needs and improving the lives of you the supporter, as well as the person receiving your care and/or support.
​
Whether you are supporting someone because they are young or aging, and/or because they have a short term illness or a long term disability, the training series are designed to encourage you within your individual role and individual environment, to reflect on the difficulties that you face in providing care and support, and to discuss solutions that are realistically and effectively applicable in your daily reality.

The four specific topics are as follows:
EMBRACING Autism
Training series
The autism training series is for parents, family or caregivers who are directing supporting an autistic individual on a regular basis.
It is comprised of six workshops designed to equip supporters with information and tools that increase their confidence and efficacy in meeting the needs of the person in their care.

human NEEDS
training series
The human needs training series is for parents, family or caregivers who are looking for applicable recommendations in best practices for supporting the neurodiversity of all individuals.
It is comprised of four workshops designed to equip supporters with information and tools that increase their confidence and efficacy in meeting needs.
emracing alzheimer's
training series
The Alzheimer training series is for children, partners, family or caregivers who are directing supporting an individual who has Alzheimer's on a regular basis.
It is comprised of five workshops designed to equip supporters with information and tools that increase their confidence and efficacy in meeting the needs of the person in their care.
Training series
FOR SUPPORTERS
OF Non SPEAKING
INDIVIDUALS
This training series is for parents, family or caregivers who are working directly with individuals who are non-speaking, or who are losing speech.​
It consists of a series of six workshops that equip supporters to approach the person in their care with confidence, awareness and respect around their unique communication style.
Parents, family and caregiver trainings
are available in three ways.
COMMUNITY COLLABORATION
The various training series may be offered periodically in collaboration with schools, daycares, residences, group homes, clinicians, professionals or community organizations.
